IGF Hyderabad 2008

by admin ~ December 6, 2008

IGF is an important event which is organized by the United Nations. As this was being hosted by the department of IT, C-DAC center’s were invited to attend the conference. The Department of IT, Gov of India was also highlighting the NeGP(National e-Governance Plan) there which has 27 MMPs(Mission Mode Projects). And among these MMPs, one of the MMP is NSDG (National e-Governance Services Delivery Gateway). C-DAC Mumbai was to represent the NSDG at the IGF-village there. I was there to represent it at the C-DAC stall. But unfortunately some either communication gap happened or some other problem and so the poster of NSDG was not there. Though if it was not ready it should have been communicated to the Mumbai center on time, so that center would either arrange the poster or cancel the participation in the conference. When I reached at the venue on 3rd, I found no posters for NSDG and I was stunned. And without the poster it was just mere a formality or you say just time pass there for me.

These I all communicated to my seniors and just withdrown from the conference on the very first day. Anyway I am here for 4 days, and with these all things I had remaining 3 days to spend. So planned to use this three days. As there were some work related to the NSDG was still remaining at NIC, Hyderabad. So I left the the conference and came to the NIC for further work. On the very first day at I could not do much, but one significant job that I finished was that I had got the temporary I card for the data center.

Second day was very challanging and wanted to finish the job related to the non-ssl access of the NSDG. But with the help of Peeyush and Abhishek I was able to finish it by 9 in the evning. But for the whole day without any sweter or Jacket I was totally chilled by the evning. Today I have to finish some testing and performance related tasks and also I have to return back to the Mumbai. But good thing today I did that I am with sweter to beat the cold of the server room.

On very first day I realized that I just going to waste my precious 4 days and C-DAC’s money. But fortunately it is not the case now I have finished one significant job of the non-ssl access of the NSDG and hope to finish some more job by today.

All welcome to this new member in my flat. This is a pigeon(kabutar) which is laying 2 eggs on the almirah. We have provided full shelter for it. We ensure no one switch on the fan or make any troubled sound. And we are keeping the window always open. All the best to it. :)
